“Where Can I Turn for Peace?” YouTube Link
Ever since I created this arrangement of “Where Can I Turn for Peace?”, this hymn has had new meaning for me. For some reason, I needed to really look at the lyrics and take them into my heart and connect them with visual examples before I recognized the meaning of the hymn. As I arranged it, I tried to do so in a way that drew out the lyrics to grasp a sense of the pain, heartbreak and struggle that leads us to peace, harmony and joy through Jesus Christ. It’s a personal journey. Footage of Lehi and his family’s journey to the promised land as found in the Book of Mormon are shown throughout. Lehi, Nephi and the whole family give us a realistic example of the struggle and pain we all experience and how we can work through it….with Christ…. to bring us out of it wiser and more whole on the other side.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”.
