This is a compilation video of the four lullabies I wrote for each of my children, along with a couple of cute bedtime poems interlaced.
Songwriting is the act of baring one's soul to another in the form of words and music.

This was a new project type for me. It was a fun one. I enjoyed the meaning and added depth that each of these hymns took on once they were combined together in a new and different way!
Beautiful baby Lucas was a miracle baby. He was at a zero (apgar score), when he was born, but they were able to revive him. Four days later, after his cooling treatment, I was able to hold him for the first time. We have enjoyed every second we’ve been able to rock, hold and care for this little guy.
As a special series for Rare Disease Day (February 28) I decided to put together a presentation about GM1 which is the rare disease that 3 of our 4 children have been affected by. This was meant to educate and give people a basic understanding of all aspects of this disorder and hopefully raise awareness and funds for GM1 research.
This Lullaby was written for Eli. Eli has since passed away from GM1 Gangliosidosis at the age of 11, in May 2020. Some of the photos in this video are of Eli as a baby. Comment below about a beautiful baby in your life!
Brainstorm – I wrote this song 11 years ago, so I’m trying to remember how I came up with the song. I think I just knew I wanted to write him a little lullaby and wanted it to be relaxing

My parents were visiting me and I told them I was trying to figure out what cover song I would do for December. My Mom told me that her favorite Christmas song is Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. I replied, “ok, that’s the one then.” I arranged a jazzy piano version of this song back in college at USU. It happened to be the only time this one professor seemed to be impressed with me!
Weighed down with sorrow today
I see you struggling in every way
Nights are long and heavy and sad
Few and fewer moments when you’re glad
Brainstorming – This song is about an event in my life, the death of our child. But I also tried to write it in a way that would apply to anyone who has cared for a terminally ill loved one who has passed on. Writing it helped me to process everything that happened and to maintain some hope along with it. It’s a brutal topic and a heavy one, I realize that, but hopefully it will touch some hearts.
