Happy “Music Monday”! As I was working on “Love, Loretta” for my friend Loretta, 🙂 she mentioned the song I was writing for her parents, to one of her friends…which resulted in her friend hiring me to write a song. This woman wanted a song for her husband as a Christmas present and I got it done just in time. 🙂 (Fuimos Unidos is available here)
It was really fun for me to learn about their story, (which I’m purposefully keeping anonymous on this website). She emailed me all about their relationship, all the things she loves about her husband and what brought them together. She also included some thoughts her children had written down about their Father. I thought it was a beautiful story and really special.
They both speak Spanish, so it was only natural to include a phrase in Spanish to be a prominent feature of the song. With the help of the wife, I chose “Fuimos Unidos” which essentially means, “We were brought together”. One of the main threads in her story and expressions she sent to me was the idea that God had brought them together. It had seemed to her that the stars aligned and they were in the right place at the right time to meet one another…..I believe it.
