Eli’s Lullaby

Happy Music Monday! My son, Eli, is turning 10 this weekend! Since it is his birthday month, I wanted to record and share his lullaby. I made up a little lullaby for each of my children to sing to them when they were babies. I’ve never recorded them, so I was excited to finally record one of them. Listen to Eli’s Lullaby here.

I came up with part of the song when Eli was a baby, but after his diagnosis of GM1 Gangliosidosis back in 2014, I added the middle bridge section. The song now has a touch of sadness to it, saying “I’ll kiss your owies and hold you tonight. Drift off to dreamland where everything’s right.” Eli has had to endure increasing difficulty and suffering over the last 3 years or so…because of GM1. But most of the time he is peaceful and comfortable. Along side the sorrow and grief, there is joy and peace…. declaring, “Mommy and Daddy are here for you,”…..and we always will be.
We are so happy that he is having another birthday and doing so well!

This is how you’ll find Eli most days lately…sleeping through anything. 🙂 It’s fitting since the song is a lullaby.

I do agree with all of the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They are very convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very short for beginners. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
