This was a new project type for me. It was a fun one. I enjoyed the meaning and added depth that each of these hymns took on once they were combined together in a new and different way!
Sweet Hour of Prayer is an LDS hymn written over 100 years ago by William B. Bradbury with the text attributed to William W. Walford. Oh Holy Words of Truth and Love is a less popular hymn in my church culture, but has a beautiful message and melody as well. It was written by Edwin F. Parry with text by Joseph L. Townsend. I only used the “Chorus” part of this hymn in my arrangement.
The sheet music is posted on my Complete Pianist website for free. You can find it here.

Lyrics:
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer! That calls me from a world of care – And bids me at my Father’s throne – Make all my wants and wishes known.
Sweet Hour of Prayer/Oh Holy Words of Truth and Love arranged by Marilee Kay
Beautiful words of love – Coming from God above, How sweet, how dear the words we hear! They’re beautiful words of love.
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer! Thy wings shall my petition bear – To Him whose truth and faithfulness – Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek His face, Believe his word, and trust his grace, I’ll cast on Him (Beautiful words of love) my every care, (coming from up above) And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer! How sweet, how dear the words we hear! They’re beautiful words of love.”
