Teach Me to Walk in the Light NT

Teach Me to Walk in the Light, is the suggested song for the New Testament lesson “Walk in the Spirit” studying the book of Galatians. This primary song was also the suggested song for another lesson in the old testament, so this is a repeat from that video with some adjustments. My teenage daughter recorded the first verse for me and I couldn’t convince her to do more than that! But she came up with the arrangement all on her own and I love it.

Here are a few verses from Galatians that echo the concepts taught in this song:

• Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

In the Come Follow Me Manual it says:

“Studying these verses can help you evaluate how fully you are walking in the Spirit. Are you experiencing the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in verses 22–23? What other fruit, or results, of spiritual living have you noticed? Ponder what you need to do to cultivate this fruit more fully. How might cultivating this fruit improve the important relationships in your life? If you are trying to walk in the Spirit but your efforts don’t seem to be bearing the promised fruit, read Galatians 6:7–10. What message do you feel the Lord has for you in these verses?”
