We Are Sowing (Hymn no. 216) is a hymn I wasn’t as familiar with so it was fun to do a piano arrangement of it. The lyrics reflect the principles of the Parable of the Sower and are interesting and poignant!
Matthew 13:
-
- 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
- 18 ¶ Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
- 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
- 33 aFear not to do bgood, my sons, for whatsoever ye csow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow dgood ye shall also reap good for your ereward.
This hymn was written by:
- Text: Anon., Pure Diamonds, Cleveland, 1872 (Interesting that we don’t have the author of this text!)
- Music: Henry A. Tuckett, 1852–1918
