“Dearest Children, God is Near You” is another repeated “suggested song” which I first arranged for the old testament study of 2 Kings 2-7. This was the first video I did in this Come Follow Me Music series! I am happy to be able to say I have done about 40 music video arrangements since then! I know there are so many ways in which I can improve, but I am grateful to have been able to done what I’ve done so far with the Lord’s inspiration.
The lesson manual asks these two questions in regards to the description of Jesus Christ accepting and blessing the little children:
What might it have been like to be among the children Jesus blessed? What might it mean to “receive the kingdom of God as a little child”? (Mark 10:15). The word Gratitude comes to mind as I think about both of these questions. Feeling grateful is such a beautiful emotion. I think it actually feels really nice and I believe it is available to us any time we choose it. We can cultivate such love, gratitude and honor for our Lord and our God. I want to be a more grateful person and thinking of receiving the kingdom of God as a little child, brings that emotion to my mind.
- Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein
