Rejoice, the Lord is King!

Rejoice, the Lord is King!” is the “suggested song” for the new testament study week of Jesus’ Triumphal Entry (Come Follow Me Lesson for May 15-21 “Behold Thy King Cometh).

In the CFM Lesson Manual it says:

“When Jesus arrived at Jerusalem just days before He accomplished His Atonement, those who recognized Him as their King showed their devotion by anointing Him, putting clothes and palm branches along His path into Jerusalem, and shouting praises….How can you honor and receive the Savior as your Lord and King?”

For me, making these videos has impacted my feelings about the Savior and God’s love for us. I think I have a more tender place in my heart for him now. My love and gratitude for him and our Father in Heaven has grown little by little, day in and day out as I speak to God in prayer, worship through song and come to the sacrament table in humility each week. I am frequently reminded of my need for Christ’s atoning power to save, heal and lift me and I am eternally grateful for him.

  • Matt 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
  • Luke 19: 37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
  • John 12: 12 ¶ On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
