Missing You

Happy Music Monday – My bonus song this week is the first song I wrote and recorded. I wrote it back in my junior year of high school and it was later recorded (around 2003) by our talented friend Bodie Brower.

This song is available on iTunes, Spotify, Google play etc but I am giving you the download free here until the end of April 2019.

Missing You is all about young love. Putting that crush up on a pedestal in your mind and blindly worshiping them almost. And then never having the courage to tell them how you really feel, or just messing things up. (Because honestly teenagers don’t know what they are doing!!!) And then… missing them.

Funny…I don’t think even one person asked me who the song was about! ha ha. They probably didn’t want to know. My parents and friends never asked me at the time, and no one has ever since.

So do you want to hear who it was about? Well….I’m not going to tell you! I have some friends who might be able to guess, but honestly it was about more than one boy….an idea of a boy almost. Many young crushes and loves left to die because they had no more substance than a tiny flame that blows out with a light breeze!

This is one of the only pictures I could find from around the time I wrote/recorded the song. Sorry about the quality.

Here is my sad “Missing You” face….this was taken during my early 30’s so not as a teenager, but it’s the album cover for “Missing You”.

Hope you enjoy. Next week I’ll be posting the first music video I’ve done since Sweet Angels. Talk to you then!

Love the story. Love the song. I’ve listened to it many times over the years. It would be interesting to know the percent of all humans who can very personally relate to this song. I imagine the percentage is fairly high. You do a great job of making songs that relate to many people and their real lives.
