Merry Christmas! This song is coming out on Christmas Day, the day before the beginning of our new Come Follow Me schedule for 2023 which will be a study of the New Testament. This week is a broad lesson entitled “We are responsible for our own learning” and doesn’t have a set area of scripture, but acts as more of an introduction to the New Testament. “Peace in Christ” is a beautiful song by Nik Day which speaks of Jesus Christ as being our way toward lasting peace. Some of the ways it suggests to find peace in Christ is by learning of him, feeling his love, listening to his words and coming to know him; some of which can be accomplished in the sincere study of the New Testament.
A few months ago we had the missionaries over for dinner and Elder Seth Brock mentioned he had always wanted to record this song, so we decided to do it. He came up with the arrangement ideas and harmony part. We had a great time on this project.
Additionally, this song has had special meaning for me personally, since it was one I turned to and sang multiple times during a period when my oldest son was dying from the rare disease he was afflicted with, GM1 Gangliosidosis. Eli, was almost 11 years old at the time and was suffering more and more. It was heartbreaking for us to let him go. As I struggled to deal with the reality of what we were going through, this song truly brought me peace. I ended up singing it at his funeral in May of 2020.

Thank you Joe! I do all the video work, maybe someday I will have someone to help me with it 🙂 ha ha. But it takes me a good few hours – I probably spent 4 days, about 3 hours each day from start to finish from arranging and recording to putting the video together. I am getting faster and hopefully more efficient with time.
