This week, I am posting a vocal arrangement of our Come Follow Me suggested song, “I Wonder When He Comes Again” from the LDS Children’s Songbook. It is a beautiful song about the second coming of Jesus Christ. We are studying chapters 58-66 in the book of Isaiah, who speaks of “that day” when our Savior will come again.
This week, I am posting a piano arrangement of our Come Follow Me suggested song, “I Stand All Amazed”. We are studying chapters 50-57 in the book of Isaiah. I Stand All Amazed, is a song in the LDS Hymn Book and is a favorite among members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and its message echoes the thoughts and prophecies expressed in this section of Isaiah.
This week, I am posting a vocal arrangement of our Come Follow Me suggested song, “How Firm a Foundation”. We are studying chapters 40-49 in the book of Isaiah. How Firm a Foundation, is a song from the LDS Hymn Book and has a strong and glorious message. There are 7 verses and I chose to present verses 1, 2, 3 and 7. Some of the verses referenced at the bottom of this hymn come from our section this week.
This week, I am posting another instrumental, piano only, version of our Come Follow Me suggested song, I Need Thee Every Hour. We are studying the middle section of Psalms – from 49-86. This section of Psalms has many themes, but one prominent theme is our need for, and dependence, on the Lord.
This song came about because of an invitation to sing at my Relief Society Activity at Church. As I thought about what I could sing, I realized that maybe I could write a song that would be exactly about the topic of bringing Jesus into the Holidays. Through working and re-working it, the song eventually evolved to what it is and I am pleased with the result. Creating this song and music video has already affected my intention and feelings about this holiday and a few times, even my behavior. I hope it helps bring others closer to Christ.
In the days and weeks leading up to Eli’s death, I was, at times, very emotionally distraught. One day, I thought of the song “Peace in Christ” which was the Youth Theme for The Church of Jesus Christ in 2018. I found the sheet music online and printed it.
